Wellington, New Zealand – BIS², the provider of multi-award-winning enterprise analytical software, that enables valuable business decisions to be made from massive data collections, announced today that it was awarded Highly Commended in the New Intelligence category of the 2010 IBM NZ Business Partner Awards for its gameViz™ solution at Silverton Casino Lodge in Las Vegas, Nevada.
gameViz is a gaming industry-specific Web 2.0 data visualisation software solution that allows casino and gaming operators to directly query huge amounts of data and see results visually using innovative and powerful Super Graphics. gameViz represents the next generation of advanced data visualisation software for strategic, operational, and analytical users of gaming data within gaming operations. It enables users to understand and take action on their gaming data in a new way – it turns data into intelligence. Using Super Graphics to view complex data analysis gives users a better way to understand their data and more quickly identify patterns and improvement opportunities.
BIS² entered its Silverton Casino Lodge installation; they were looking for a ‘plug ‘n play’ spatial intelligence front-end for their data warehouse that would help them optimise placement of gaming machines on the casino floor. They wanted a solution that would analyse gaming trends, physical locations, revenues per machine, average take from customers and a host of other metrics. BIS² delivered a turn-key implementation of gameViz, their spatial intelligence solution developed in IBM Websphere and running on Silverton’s IBM System x hardware. ROI was estimated at three months – the relocation of a single slot machine increased revenues by US$11,000 per annum with no capital outlay.
“We are pleased to be working with BIS² to achieve this recognition from IBM,” said Kirk Golding, Silverton Casino VP of Information Technology. “The gameViz technology has taken our gaming analytics to the next level and has been essential in deploying our mini-casino strategy,” Golding added.
“We are thrilled to be announced as Highly Commended in the New Intelligence category among the many high-quality, innovative and new software solutions,” said Mukesh Gordhan, Chief Executive Officer, BIS². “Our goal with the BIS² technology is to analyse huge volumes of data and convert that data into actions. Smarter information means smarter decisions,” added Gordhan.
‘New Intelligence’ is about transforming raw data from a variety of inputs into actionable information. New Intelligence ideally applies to situations where a business is deploying a solution that not only enhances decision-making, but leads to additional revenue streams and/or quantifiable cost reductions.
